Learners

Toddlers

A child approximately 12 to 36 months. They are children ages one (1) to three (3) years old.

Preschoolers

Children aged three (3) to five (5).

Kindergarten

Learners of five (5) to six (6) of age years old.

Grade 1

The first grade in elementary school. Pupils age range from six (6) to seven (7) years old. Generally, they have some basic reading knowledge.

Grade 2

Second grade is the second year of primary school. Children are usually aged 7 – 8 at this grade level.

Grade 3

Third grade (also called Grade 3) is the third school year of primary school. Students are usually 8 – 9 years old.

Grade 4

Fourth grade (called Grade 4, in the Philippines and in some regions) is the fourth school year after kindergarten. Pupils are usually 9 to 10 years old.

Grade 5

The fifth grade is the fifth and one more year left of elementary school. Learners are usually ten to eleven years of age.

Grade 6

Sixth grade (or Grade 6) was the final year of elementary school. Students are typically 11- 12 years old.

Junior High School Students

They are students from 7th through 10th grade. Approximately 12 to 15 years old.

Senior High School Students

Comprises grades 11 and 12 learners. Grades 11 and 12 are the last two years of the K-12 program that DepEd has been implementing since 2012. Students here usually 16 – 18 years old.
